Michael van der Meide poëtische stijl
Michael van der Meide (1973, Hellevoetsluis) staat bekend om zijn poëtisch verhalende stijl en intuitief gedrapeerde silhouetten.
Tot nu maakte Michael vijf collecties die allen geinspireerd zijn op de vijf elementen in de natuur: lucht, water, aarde, vuur en ether.
Met zijn eerste collectie Just three more miles to go… (lucht) bestaande uit kleurrijke gedrapeerde jurken van oude zijden parachutes won Michael direct twee grote prijzen op het prestigieuze festival in Hyeres (2004).
Zijn vijfde collectie Elements of magic… (ether) presenteerde hij in het Green Orange collectief van Wave up & EVD September 2011 op de internationale modebeurs prêt-á-porter Who’s Next in Parijs .
Op het moment is Michael bezig met zijn zesde collectie die, wederom geinspireerd zal zijn op de natuur.
Als dag en nacht is zijn poetische stijl donker of licht…

From 3-6 September 2011 Michael van der Meide and 21 other ecofriendly brands from Holland will present their collections at the Pret-a-Porter Fashion Fair in Paris. Under the name Green Orange at the So Ethic floor. Made possible by Wave Up & the government. Coming season Pret-a-Porter will go over in Who’s Next!
